The 26th of January is a special day for all Australians. One that means taking the time to celebrate all that’s great about our country and also one to pay respects to the original owners of the land. More than that, it’s about doing these things with some great people. And how could you do that without an amazing and multicultural menu to suit! To give you a leg up, here are a couple of global favourites we suggest you enjoy around the patio table this Australia Day.

The easiest ribs. Ever!

Get some pork on your fork

Nobody has ever passed up the opportunity for pork spare ribs. However, few actually know that their name (spare ribs) is the result of German influence from over 1000 years ago.

Roast Chicken

Then a little roast chicken

It’s not as intimidating as you might think. Chickens have been cooked one way or another, dating all the way back to 400 B.C.E in Israel where it’s thought chickens were first ever kept for food.

Cauliflower Tabbouleh

With a fresh side of TABBOULEH

Tabbouleh is a fresh vegetarian salad using parsley as the base ingredient. The first tabbouleh recipes originated in Lebanon and Syria.

Nanna's Cheesecake

(always) Finish with dessert

This cheesecake is light and fluffy and with a little squeeze of lemon in the recipe it blends nicely with the lemon in the chicken and tabbouleh. The Greek’s really knew what they were doing when they came up with this one. I don’t think you’d see an Olympian eating one during competition though.
